Mr Cardiff
Head of Sixth Form
Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Community,
Welcome to our Sixth Form.
At Garden, we offer the comprehensive A-Level programme, including national curriculum subjects; English Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Design Technology, Art and Design, History, Geography, Global Perspectives and Music. On average, students complete four AS courses in Year 12, and three A-level courses in Year 13.
Studying these subjects gives our students the best opportunity to enter their university of choice. We are immensely proud of the prestigious university offers our students receive, these include many from around the world including the USA, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Europe, Thailand and also several from the illustrious Russell Group in the UK. The Russell Group’s 24 members are world-class, research-intensive universities. They are globally renowned for their contribution to research, nurturing innovation, creating jobs, stimulating economic growth and changing lives for the better across the UK and around the world.
We aid our students with these applications by delivering careers advice early in Year 10 PSHE and Registration sessions through to the end of their iGCSEs, in preparation for selecting the right AS courses that will allow them to pursue their chosen career pathway. During their time in Year 12, our students continue to receive targeted one-to-one support, both internally, with our experienced pastoral team, and externally with outside agencies and university representatives to help our students research aspirational universities and colleges so that they can streamline their final applications during Year 13.
Our students graduate from Garden as confident, charismatic, all-round young leaders, ready to embrace life’s exciting challenges.
